Open Positions

Experienced Tapers, Framers, and Drywallers

TFR Builders is looking to add a few good hardworking members to our team. Must have own tools and be self-motivated. Current projects are in the LA/Hollywood area.

Metal Stud Framers

  • Reading plans and can layout walls, soffits, and ceilings.
  • Framing metal stud walls and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using own hand and power tools
  • Framing door openings and windows for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing rough
  • Installing acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath

Drywaller

  • Layout, measure, cutting and fitting drywall sheets for installation on walls, soffits, and ceilings at rated and non-rated walls
  • Cutting openings in drywall for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
  • Installing corner beads and L-metal at columns, corners, soffits, and windows for taping mud is to be applied
  • Positioning and securing drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs
  • Building shaft walls with C – H Studs with doors headers, ducts, and fire dampers

Finishers

  • Prefilling joints, holes and cracks with compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Applying, leveling and smoothing coats of mud with taping tools and hand tools
  • Smoothing out excess compound and sanding over dry compound
  • Cleaning and preparing surfaces for coats 
  • Spraying finish over walls and ceiling level 5 with airless spray rig

Physical Requirements

  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Repeat the same movements.
  • Walk for long periods of time.
  • Bend or twist their body.
  • Climb ladders, scaffolds
  • Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
  • Able to lift to 50lbs

Ideal Candidate must have solid work history, good references, reliable transportation to and from work. Be able to work in a team environment with multiple people and trades. Must work in an environment that always promotes safety and be able to work overtime and grueling schedules as needed

Project Administrator

This position reports directly to the Project Manager Team and the COO. The Project Administrator will
be responsible for assisting the Project Management Team with the day-to-day administrative duties for
ongoing projects.

Primary Skillset & Experience:

  • Create, set up and maintain all project folders on shared drive
  • Familiar with interpreting construction contracts
  • Obtain, record and accurately track all necessary project documents for project billing
  • Ensuring we meet project billing deadlines. Ability to initiate and prepare prebilling documents for
    Project
  • Manager to review and submit project billings as instructed by the Project Manager
  • Assist project manager in all administration functions and processes
  • Facilitate development of project plans and manage them from inception to completion
  • Monitor all moving parts of the project keeping them synchronized and moving forward
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute all necessary project materials
  • Monitor and track all change orders – update weekly
  • Organize and implement formulated policies and procedures
  • Attend all project meetings and take notes
  • Budget forecast and assess possible project risks and setbacks
  • Analyze project data and produce progress reports
  • Foster positive and productive client relationships

Candidate must possess the following attributes:

  • Must be able to use a computer (Microsoft 10)
  • Microsoft Office Savvy, particularly in Excel
  • Have strong work ethic
